16th September COMP-LET workshop was visited by one interested guy, preparing development of high-performance machine with 300HP Rolls-Royce engine RR300 , finding SHARK fuselage to be ideal background for possible colaboration with us. We tried to evaluate what does it mean to install Rolls directly in Shark - and recognize we can be above 500 km/hour...

For Rolls-Royce M250 turboprop our aerodynamics calculated for MTOW 600 kg and in MSA condition, including flight level FL120 (12,000 ft) - limit without oxygen on the board:

Max. continuous power :

H= 0 TAS = 470 km/h

FL120 TAS = 515 km/h

Cruise speed :

H= 0 TAS = 440 km/h

FL120 TAS = 490 km/h

Do You remember the time, when "big" pilots called our light sport airplanes by pejorative "rag-planes" ?

Of course, with turboprop, Shark will be moved to experimental category of FAR23, because UL and light sport categories are limited, and in the same time little reinforced, because with this kind of power all users will want to fly aerobatics maneuvres very probably.
