Go to the picture page for short video clips. My floats were just under 100lbs total installed and the plane flew great with them. When I finish the rebuild on 52/2002 I will build a set of carbon fiber floats for it but the landing gear will be inboard. I will send you pictures as work progresses.

The next set of floats I build will have the main gear inboard of the floats and the wheels will retract behind pectoral fins (like a shark)under the body to cut down on drag. I have not designed an internal gear system as it adds complexity and weight but is not as strong and leaks develop easier.

I am not in the business of making floats anymore but if people are
interested I may consider making some kind of float kit.

I had a lot of fun in my amphib Skyboy but let me warn everybody it is very addictive.
