When 300km/hour is not enough, there are some ideas to create jet-powered aircraft using Shark design, so You could fly 400-500 km/hour according to used engine.

Price-induction jet looks nice for that purposes :
At Take Off Power, you can get up to 255daN, consuming 80kg/h of fuel for the DGEN 380 and 330daN with 100kg/h fuel consumption for the DGEN 390.

of course - this kind of aircraft cannot be called Ultralight, although its empty weight could be  very similar

Shark 003 did a world speed record Print E-mail
Written by Eric de Barberin-Barberini

Yesterday, Shark 003 did a world speed record attempt on the distance 15 to
25 km.
Weather was not perfect, windy and quite bumpy. But my lady copilot had a
very busy timetable and Vlado had asked me not to push too much.
So we went for it.
Primary result is that we did the job with an average speed of 282 km/hr.
It is now in the hands of the French federation, waiting for handover to the
FAI. It will  stay as pending for a few months.
Anyway, this is really what the Shark can do, and I can tell you that it
will give a lot more.
